Did you know?

Born at SHOT Show

The T1x MTR debuted at SHOT Show on Jan 23, 2018 — Tikka's first rimfire.

[VARM]
Shares a footprint

The T1x action shares the T3x's bedding surfaces and inlay footprint, so it drops into T3x Lite/UPR stocks.

Same trigger

The T1x uses the same trigger unit as the centerfire T3x.

[AR]
45° bolt

A 45° bolt lift — the T1x Ace Target press release calls it out for easy, fast cycling.

[ACE-PR]
Two threads

US/Canada rifles are threaded 1/2-28; UK and Australia get 1/2-20.

[MAN-GMK]
Million-rifle family

The millionth Tikka T3/T3x was built on 10 March 2020 — the ecosystem the T1x plugs into.

Honest caveats

  • Barrel retention conflict: Tikka's series page says the barrel is attached by a 'sturdy thread', but hands-on reports (American Rifleman, owners) find three torqued set screws plus adhesive. We trust the hands-on evidence (med confidence). Barrel removal is hard — use a gunsmith.
  • Recoil lug material conflict: Lumley says steel, KRG says aluminum.
  • Suppressor law is in flux: $0 federal tax since 2026-01-01, but ATF registration/approval and state law still apply.
  • Trigger settings below 2.5 lb go below Tikka's stated minimum — competition-only, gunsmith install recommended.
  • Prices are as of Oct 2026 — recheck before buying.
