4. Barrel swap (the 457's big feature — with caveats)

Procedure from CZ's Mini-set instructions [MINI]: 1. Remove mag and bolt. 2. Remove the 2 stock screws and trigger guard, lift off the stock. 3. Fit/remove the mag-housing insert (.22 LR only). 4. Loosen the mag-housing rear screw 1-2 turns. 5. Loosen both barrel set screws and pull the barrel. 6. Reassemble: tighten the mag-housing screw before the barrel screws. Barrel screws 5.5 Nm, stock screws 3.5 Nm. - Headspace caveat: CZ markets "user-swappable barrels" but the Mini-set sheet says each barrel "must be fitted individually by a gunsmith" with a headspace gauge (may need material removed per CIP). These conflict — headspace-check every swap. [MINI] [CZUS] - Aftermarket drop-ins: Lilja's instructions measure receiver-face-to-bolt-face depth, compute shim stack (e.g. target .043 in headspace), and specify 35-40 in-lb set-screw torque for their barrels (differs from CZ's 5.5 Nm ≈ 49 in-lb — follow the barrel maker). Lilja also notes burrs where set-screw holes break into the receiver bore can block close-fit shanks. [LILJA] - Kurt the Gunsmith measured one factory rifle at 0.046 in headspace; bolt shims tighten it. [KURT] - Barrel/stock channel: heavy barrels don't fit American/Lux/Premium/Training/Jaguar/Royal stocks. [COMPAT] - US: barrels under 16 in create an SBR (NFA). [DATA]
